Stories 2/5 – Let’s write story together

I asked you about writing continuation to my entry story. The idea is to write a story together. We choose the best continuation and later we will decide what to do with it.

I received 45 of your stories. I randomly divided them (RAND() in Excel) into 5 groups of 9 stories each. Now we choose the best story from each group. Later we will choose the best one from 5 best stories. At this stage all stories are anonymous – we choose the best one, not the best friend ;P We vote using poll on the bottom of each story groups page. You can vote till December 22 12:00 am (UTC/GMT).

Entry story:

“Mary is a single woman, about 30. She lives with her cat Thomas in her parents house. Her father died when she was 7. Her mother passed away a year ago. Mary’s mother always bear a grudge against her mother (Mary’s grandmother), that she couldn’t lived how she wanted to. She wanted to protect her daughter (Mary) from the same miserable life, but she couldn’t make it…”

Story 13

After mothers death the only reason what kept her alive is her cat Thomas that she loved dearly. But today is extremely painful day. She couldn’t bear the emptiness of her life in this cheerful time of year. She is tired waiting the day when death finally come for her so she decided to embrace the death herself. Climbing to the rooftop she noticed many people who possessed shining smile. “Ah, yeah”, she remembered,” Today is New Year”, but it doesn’t mean anything to her because she didn’t feel hope not even fear from jumping. She closed her eyes and she was ready to free herself from this cruel world but one word change everything “Stop”. She opened eyes and saw handsome man with messy black hair and green eyes like Thomas.

Story 3

If her mother had not died in a car accident, would she be able to give Mary the life she never had? Though she was too late, a man came into the picture. It was Andrew, the best friend and neighbor right across Mary’s humble home. Through her toughest times when her mother was not around anymore, Andrew was there to keep her company, to protect her from sadness, to keep her sane. He was there, openly giving his heart to the girl who just broke hers. With this, Mary fell in love with him. They were wed in the day of her mother’s death to replace all sad memories with new joyful ones. However the newly wed did not know what was hidden beneath the death of Mary’s mother…

Story 43

However Mary wasn’t a fragile soul like her mother and although an introverted optimist she held onto life. She struggled, fought and succeeded until every convex of “scars” embedded her soul. Mary maybe the outlook of a stereotype but she was content. She was a fighter, a dreamer, at times a self-proclaimed philosopher but simple in heart.

Story 27

Mary’s mother brought the 5 year old Mary to her husband’s home village far from her mother who had wanted to kill Mary several times but soon her mother found them and they had a fight by the dock, leading both of them falling into the sea and drowned as both didn’t knew how to swim. The village was nearly isolated as there was only 10 villagers, all of them as fishermen and farmers, both men and women. Mary was living in the house alone as none of the villagers had time for her, she was alone and… abandoned… She hated her mother as she was the one that brought her here, she hated the village too since no one cared for her, but she didn’t know that the crops and fishes growing behind her house where she gets her food from were all provided by them. “Argh, I hate this place!!!” She yelled as she swung her legs onto the coffee table, “I’m freakin 30 and jobless and penniless and… manless… That’s not even a words, whatever… Atleast I have you Thomas, I’m… petful? Pfft hahahahahaha…” She laughed at her own joke while petting Thomas who was sitting beside her. “Maybe you should be a comedian.” “Yeah maybe I should… Wait… Who’s there?!” She looked around in shock. “Me, Thomas, your cat.” Suddenly a bright light came from Thomas and the next thing Mary saw was a handsome man sitting right beside her. She screamed and fell onto the floor, the man smirked and held out his hand, “what’s wrong? Don’t you recognize your cat?” “B-but how??” Her brain flashed scenes where she brought Thomas to bathe together almost everyday and she blushed. He grinned, “now you have a man and a pet… I’ll enjoy spending the rest of my life with you.”

Story 37

After she left by her parents, Mary didn’t know that there are a mistery in her parent’s home.1 month after her mother died, Mary live alone with her cat, Thomas. Mary always crying while She hold her cat. Someday suddenly  Thomas’ necklace broken because of Mary and make Thomas run away from Mary. Mary who worried and confused with Thomas behaviour trying to catch and seeking it.she finally found it on the corner her mom room. She so shocked when she saw Thomas turned into a human. Thomas,her cat become a man, handsome man. Suddenly she forget how to speak and thinking then she lose her consciousness…

Story 39

Once Mary’s mother passed away, Mary’s grandmother paid frequent visits to Mary. First, she would bring food and clothing. Then all the controlling preaches began. Gradually, her grandmother would tell Mary how to dress, walk, and act like a lady. Unlike her mom, Mary was mature, decisive, and strong. She was living in the new century, and had the freedom to dress like a boy and walk like a boy. Mary didn’t dislike girly stuff, she simply could not afford it. Mary was a baker of a small business and she learned her skills from the best, her mother. Instead of feeling bitter and lonely, Mary was satisfied with the smell of bread spreading from the kitchen to the street, a fatty cat purring and hugging her at bedtimes, and a portrait of her parents reminding her that it is okay, that today she has done well.

Story 20

When Mary forcefully attend to an omai by her grandma she met with an accident. Mary went to a coma. In a corner of a country; in a hospital room; a young lady laying unconscious. Around her playful teenagers chatting around. Young lady slowly waking up,looking supersize with a puzzled look. “Who are u”?”who gave permission to enter my room”she asked.”hey! look her highness has ascend the throne”young boy shouted by hitting her head.A nurse barged in to the room ;”You stupid girl. How dare you waste my money”.:the nurse jumped in and hit the girl.The young girl in her thoughts. thinking what happened Alas!in the young girl’s body,Mary is in.(Oh! my God what happens)

Story 40

Her best friend is Abbie. Mary and Abbie are a Spanish teachers. In free time, she play tennis infact her father was a top tennis teacher. On Saturday afternoon Mary go to the cinema. Her favourite celebrity is Stella McCartney. Beatles are favourite band.Mary is very problem for her  mother, because she’s vegetarian. Mary  eats rice and pasta, so she has Chinese food every weekend!Mary read a book when she’sin bed. She loves London and she want lives here.

Story 19

History was going to repeat itself. Mary the poor woman was going to go through the same faith. Mary the always sullen little girl staring out at the window watching as the other children played is going to spend her whole life locked up in depression. But is Mary just really going let herself sink into this kind of life? No… She decided she has had enough of being a prisoner in her own little world. All she’s ever known is that her happiness was always decided by other people. But no more she said to herself she’s already in her 30’s she’s old enough to decide for herself. When your happy it doesn’t mean people are happy as well.

We don’t live to impress people. Mary has learned her lesson in this cruel world if no one will make her happy she’ll sustain her own happiness with independence.
